This month, media personality and fashion creative, Benjamin Coy announces the launch of Well Dressed & Unfiltered, a new Substack series that reimagines fashion storytelling through intimate, narrative-driven essays paired with embedded audio elements.
Well Dressed & Unfiltered centers voices from across the fashion ecosystem—designers, stylists, creatives, commentators, and tastemakers—capturing not just what they wear, but what they’ve lived. Each installment unfolds blending observation, conversation, and reflection to explore identity, ambition, visibility, and the emotional realities of working in fashion.
“Fashion is often framed as aspiration,” Coy shares. “This series is about what happens underneath that—after the show, before the applause, and in the moments we don’t usually get to see.”
Unlike a podcast or standard interview format, the series is written-first, allowing stories to breathe on the page. Carefully selected audio clips—raw, candid, and human—are woven throughout each piece, giving readers the option to listen when a voice, pause, or laugh says more than text alone.
The result is a hybrid experience: part essay, part oral history, part cultural archive.
With Well Dressed & Unfiltered, Coy continues to expand his role as a fashion commentator by positioning himself as a narrator and curator—connecting personal stories to larger conversations about race, power, creativity, burnout, and belonging within the industry.
